Create a shared ledger

Create a shared ledger for a family, a trip or another shared activity. Agree on its name and currency before recording. Free accounts can own one created ledger; joining someone else’s ledger does not use that creation allowance. Member limits depend on the owner’s entitlements.

Invite members

The ledger owner generates an invitation QR code for other members to scan. Invitation tokens expire after 24 hours; ask the owner for a new one if necessary.

Only share invitations with intended members. Check the ledger name and membership after joining before adding entries.

Understand permissions

Ledger management, invitations and entry actions are checked against member permissions. If an action is unavailable, check your role before trying again.

Shared-ledger data supports collaboration. Keep private personal spending in a separate personal ledger.

When the owner permanently deletes their account

On permanent account deletion, the owner’s ledgers become read-only, are not transferred and accept no new entries. Only the departing user’s own entries are deleted. Other members’ entries remain and continue to count in their personal statistics.

Other members can still view and edit their own retained entries. Saving moves them to a valid, writable default ledger; without one, saving fails. Affected recurring templates remain paused, and budgets are disabled after invalid ledger associations are removed. See Account and Data Deletion for the full scope.
